A new year begins, but it does not mark the end of cyber threats... far from it!

Several sites are publishing trends for this new year. What we can generally take away is that ransomware still has bright years ahead.

  1. The Explosion of Ransomware!

It is estimated that their frequency will continue to rise, targeting more precisely in order to increase the ransoms demanded by hackers.

  1. The Industrialization of Information Theft

This is no surprise, but it is becoming a complex issue. Beyond traditional ransomware, data exfiltration and the resale or use of stolen information will be one of the key topics of 2025.

  1. SMEs & Small Businesses in the Crosshairs

This was already true in 2024, and it’s not improving in 2025. SMEs remain the weak link in security and therefore an easier target.

It’s not that SMEs haven’t invested in security, but cybersecurity is a vast and often more complex challenge for them due to technological lag or a significant gap in application and technical infrastructure.
